whilst listening to their new song i scrolled down noticing they ACTUALLY HAVE TOUR DATES!!! i then came to realize they're playing in lancaster, PA at the venue my boyfriend works at on june 26th when i just so happen to already be in lancaster!!! I AM FREAKING OUT!
I was extremely impressed with the opening band last night, and they are on their way to being the next big thing. if you haven't heard of them yet they're called "Days Difference". And you WILL hear of them very very soon.
The 2 blondes are brothers and the 2 brunettes are also brothers.

The Plain White T's were, as usual, really great. They're playing tonight in DC so if you missed them in Baltimore you still have a chance to see the show.

Today I went to Ikea and in honor of The Sounds ate Swedish meatballs and had lingonberry juice. Too bad the Ikea was under renovations and didn't even have what I actually went there for.
Show was really great, heres a photo:

Is the most interesting show of all time. I love the discovery health channel.
This show "Sex with mom and dad" on MTV is extremely disturbing. I just watched an episode where a 16 year old girl decided she wanted a purity ring and her mom was totally against it and really encouraging her to explore her sexuality. I don't understand why any parent would try to force their child to explore sexual situations if it makes them uncomfortable. The girl had never even kissed a guy before. Honestly, I didn't kiss a guy until I was 15. I don't think that makes me abnormal at all. I also never talked about sex with my mom and never would want to know about her sex life AT ALL. That just seems creepy to me. I understand being open with your kids but I also think that when they're ready, they will come to you. But yeah, everyone is different blahblahblah wawawa. That bring me to episode 2.
In the second episode there was a 19 year old girl who is BFFs with her mom. They goto clubs and party together and her mom gets drunk with her. I also don't understand as a mom, a responsible adult, encouraging your underage children to drink. Because that happens to be illegal. The mom admitted to letting her daughters friends come over and drink at their house when they were like 15 years old. That's making decisions for OTHER peoples children. Because as an adult, telling an impressionable child that it's okay might change their situation and viewpoint on drugs and alcohol. The girl lost her virginity when she was 16 years old and has had 7 partners in 3 years... and her mom is totally okay with that.
I know people don't usually tend to agree with me when it comes to sex, drugs, or alcohol. Everyone is their own person. I don't judge anyone for living their lives however they choose. What I don't agree with is forcing your opinions onto your children or friends. Peer pressure basically. Ugh I just hate MTV.
Spent 4 days in Michigan for my sisters wedding. From left to right that's my sister Amy, me, my dad, my sister Cristina and her husband Dallas, my mom, and my brother Miguel.

Disappointment. BEN BARNES SHOULD HAVE WON BREAKOUT ROLE FOR PRINCE CASPIAN!!! HE IS WAY BETTER THAN ROBERT PATTINSON AND TWILIGHT (CGI wolves? REALLY?). But that whole Bruno and Eminem thing was amazing. I hope it was real and not planned. At least Slumdog won all the real awards at the REAL award shows. Also, Iron Man should have won best movie.
- It's weird even calling them CD's because what I mean are digital MP3s...
1) THE JONAS BROTHERS "Lines, Vines, and Trying Times". The single "Paranoid" is incredible, the video is even better. What I don't understand is why Joe is even in the band when he stands there and sings 2 lines during the chorus. Just kidding we all know he's in the band because he's good looking and sometimes playing tambourine live.
2) AS CITIES BURN "Hell or High Water". Although they are no longer a band, this CD is probably their best yet. Their sound is a complete 180 from what it used to be, in a good way. What I don't understand is how all of their old fans who mainly listen to hardcore and metal are really into this release and somehow not into so many other bands who sound really similar to that style.
3) MELODY CLUB "Goodbye to Romance". I actually just got this yesterday and it is by far the best pop album of all time SERIOUSLY. I've been into this band for a few years now and missed their only show in the United States and still hate my life because of it. It always pleases me when a band continues to put out new records just as good, if not better, than their last (cough cough unlike Green Day).
- LIST OF RECENT CD RELEASES THAT ARE EXTREMELY OVERRATED
1) GREEN DAY (Disappointing. I hate when bands try too hard and it just sounds contrived and auto-tuned and forced.)
2) LADY GAGA (Put some dang pants on woman!)
3) TAYLOR SWIFT (Can't stand her... I just... can't.)
I got really bored and have given into facebook... again. So go add me and stuff. Search "Patriciana Tenicela"

The SOLID GOLD DANCERS RETURN!
Solid Gold Dancers Part 2
I have this insane theory that whatever I'm meant to do and whoever I'm meant to be, will just happen on it's own. That there's nothing I can do to avoid it, when the time is right it will simply present itself. I believe strongly in God and that he has a plan set out for me and I'm destined for something great that someone will remember me by. I think if I make an impact on even 1 persons life while I'm alive and they make an impact on someone else's and so on, then I've done my part. I really just hope to help encourage, motivate, and help people as much as I possibly can. To be a positive role model and a good influence on the people around me. I have absolutely no idea where life is going to take me. I do not have any career in mind for the future, but I kind of like not having it set in stone. It's not that I don't know what I want to do or who I want to be, but that there's so many things I'd still like to try. I have so many interests I would hate to get stuck in just one field and miss out experiencing others.
I need to remember to keep a positive mind and attitude. To not take things personally. Avoid drama. And most importantly, to let myself be happy. Not dwell on negative things. Be optimistic and fun. I went through a funk this winter and I'm trying to dig myself out and get back to being the person I've always been. I'm sort of writing this entry as a reminder to myself of how to act and think and be. Things are heading towards a lot of good and I wouldn't want to ruin that.
So in love with this band. They are currently filling my modern day rock and roll void.
Hanson's Taylor Hanson, former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha,Fountains Of Wayne and Ivy mainstay Adam Schlesinger, and Cheap Trickdrummer Bun E. Carlos have gotten together and formed Tinted Windows.
1) The other night I went out and saw Atomic Tom at the Canal Room with Nate Campany. I had never heard Nate play before but I honestly thought his music was so beautiful that I could just sit and cry to it. I was really beyond impressed with his set and hope to see him play again soon. Atomic Tom was, as usual, the greatest band of all time. I took this amazing video with my phone, it's obviously the highest quality video out there, of members of Atomic Tom as well as Ben Romans doing... something... just watch you'll see.
2) The reason I was in NY this week was that I was helping to make a music video with the director that I intern for. It's a really amazing opportunity and I've met so many cool people through doing this. This video was for Taking Back Sunday and it involved the making of several large vats full of black slime (which consisted of glue, water, black food coloring and laundry detergent...). The entire process was such a blast and everyone had a lot of fun that day despite being awake for more than 24 hours and working for almost 21 hours straight. I think the best part of the day was when Eddie the guitar play had to sink himself into a trash can full of slime. He played a practical joke on everyone and didn't come back up right away. Everyone was kind of scared that he might have died in there. I'm really glad that he didn't. Here's a video of what Adam the singer looked like post-slime.
Last night I went to see my friends play one of their last shows ever together. They're a hardcore band from Pittsburgh called Once Nothing. I've been going to their shows for a little over a year but it always felt like so much longer. I even got recognized as "The girl from all the Once Nothing shows" once. I became really close to every member of the band and my mom and I would always bring them food and stuff to their shows to make sure they would have stuff while they were on tour. They really became like family to us. It was kind of sad to think something I've gotten so used to was coming to an end. I would never goto one of their shows and see them all together again playing these songs. I kind of wish I could go back and appreciate the times I did see them more. It felt a little un-real, like I didn't believe this would be the last time they'd play, but that was just me being in denial I guess. The show had so much more intensity than I've ever seen at any hardcore show before. Their fans were more into their music than I've ever seen before. They were screaming along and all jumping on top of each other from the tops of PA speakers and there wasn't much difference between the stage and the crowd. During the last song their singer finished it off from the top of the crowd while fans attempted to crowd surf up and meet him at the mic.
The last time I saw them play there, there was an incident with the bass player and the singer where the bass hit the singer in the back of the head. I've seen similar occurrences at their shows in the past. Once their guitarist rammed into the singers stomach and the entire neck of his guitar broke off. When that happened the rest of the band kept on playing while their singer lay on the floor in pain. They're just that metal I guess. But this incident was much different. Because when Todd hit the floor this time, he didn't get back up. I saw the whole thing happen and ran over out of instinct to try and help. His head was bleeding massively onto the floor and people didn't know what to do. I tried to give my best effort and advice as I sat there holding onto him wondering how bad it really was since head injuries are always really serious. In the end he sat on the stage as paramedics looked at him and he told them he had no insurance and wasn't going to do anything. I cried because of how worried I was about him and how un-concerned he seemed to be about himself. In a way I felt bad for even caring. He eventually did get the 5 staples required in his head and was fine.
This time at their show, when they played that song, I kind of felt the need to watch him and make sure nothing happened. I can remember the exact moment during the song when it happened and when that part of the song came around I sort of started feeling like it was all happening again. Luckily though they ended their set without injuring anyone including themselves.
Last night I found myself at a Sky Eats Airplane show in Lancaster, PA. My boyfriend works at the venue and we got into a bit of a tiff earlier in the day so I walked over to just hang out with him. A bunch of local bands played and I kind of zoned out throughout that entire process. Sky Eats Airplane headlined and they have actually gotten quite a bit better since I last saw them at the Ottobar in Baltimore which Jerry refutes "Good, it would suck if we had gotten worse". Anyway during their set he proclaimed that he doesn't like girls because he's gay. Afterward I complimented him on the statement which lead to a much more interesting story one than what I'm currently telling.
Apparently someone has stolen his identity in every way possible. They've hacked all his internet and email accounts and given his personal information out, hacked into his paypal and stolen money, and made ridiculous terms which apparently include 10,000$ and to say from stage during his shows that he's gay. Oh and to "change his ways". This guys evidently seen one (or 5) too many of the "Saw" films. Allegedly this guy doesn't even know Jerry at all which I think is pretty ridiculous. Anyway it totally sucks because this guys a pretty legit hacker who's covering all his tracks. So if you see Jerry at a show ask him about it because it's pretty interesting to hear about. I'd say to donate to his paypal but I'm not sure it would ever reach him.
Shows coming up that I'm going to include: The AP Tour feat. 3OH!3 and The Maine, The Bamboozle Roadshow feat. We The Kings and FTSK, and Sing It Loud. I'm sure I'll have some interesting stories or pictures/videos to share so keep checking back.
So the circus is in town? WHO CARES! That doesn't even come close to comparing to the sheer brilliance of the one, the only, BUTCH WALKER (and his gang of merry musical melodymakers) who I had the honor and pleasure of seeing perform at the 930 club in DC just a few nights ago. I can honestly say that after years of being suffocated by all things music, I've moved on from a lot of bands who I used to be quite obsessed with. Trust me when I say this, Butch Walker is like a fine wine. He just gets greater with age (and better looking?!). Even though I've seen him play countless times over the past few years, each time I am surprised to find that he still has the ability to amaze me to the point of tears. His style, presence, and swagger only add to the talent he's been blessed with musically. To call him an inspiration would be an understatement. They played new songs, old songs, and even older songs, and still managed to leave the crowd begging for more. I think my all time favorite part of the evening was when Butch covered Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" which fulfilled my lifetime goal of re-creating that moment in "Almost Famous" when a sing-a-long bursts out of nowhere and brings everyone together. Afterwards I hung out a bit with my friends who work at the venue and got some time in with my favorite merry music melodymaker/lets go out tonite Wes and had the chance to show him around DC the next day.
This photo my mom took of Butch

This is Wes at the Natural History Museum ahahhahhaah

We went all out and paid to goto the Live Butterfly thing. It freaked me out a little and I was really scared they'd land on my head. The only thing I learned from that experience is that Butterflies are scary and this is called an "Owl Butterfly" real original.

The show last night was a lot of fun, here's a few videos for those of you who couldn't be there :)

The past week spent in NYC has been insane. I was called up to intern on 2 music videos for the director I work for. This time was a bit different than the last video I worked on for him though. Not only did I come up only a few days before shooting, but I got to do a lot of jobs I didn't get to do before. I did lots of casting, wardrobe, props, painting, construction, putting together and tearing apart the sets, and so much more. I felt like a part of a team and like what I was contributing was valuable to them. I can't wait to get back on more videos. The bands were both really great as well, which totally helps make the day go by smoothly. Here's a few sneak peaks that I probably shouldn't be putting on the internet...
THURSDAY video

RIVERBOAT GAMBLERS video

Every year I go to the Tysons Corner mall in Virginia so that I can pick a name off of the Salvation Army Christmas tree. I picked a 10-year-old girl named Toba who wanted "any toy". It was hard to think of what she would like, since I don't know her at all or anything. I ended up buying her something I thought I would really like. I got a Hannah Montana keyboard. It plays Hannah Montana songs but also is a regular keyboard. I thought giving the gift of music was probably one of the most personal things I could give someone. Maybe she'll get it and play it and love it and continue playing and loving music for the rest of her life. Just maybe.

Toba's card from the tree. They let you keep this part so you can hang it on your own Christmas Tree.

All of the other names waiting to be picked.

Other people filling out cards and the big box of presents that everyone's donated. Last year I saw a few bikes get donated. It made me ridiculously happy to know that people who have the money, would buy a bike for someone they've never even met.

These past few days in New York have been quite eventful. The days there always feel longer, because I fit in a lot more into one day than I would ever attempt to here at home. I'm glad to be back because I missed my dog and my cat and I didn't bring a change of jeans and wore the same pair 3 days in a row and they were already dirty the first day. But I miss my friends and the amazing NY vibe. I definitely have plans in the making for several more trips there soon though. It's always an adventure.
1. I went to see the movie Twilight and it was much better than I expected it to be. I might even go see it a 2nd time. I learned from this and the following experience that I should try to have a more open mind about things that I feel may not be my style. Because if I let myself, I might just enjoy it a lot more than I thought I would.
2. So the other night I went to the 3OH!3 show because my friend Kam's band "The Chain Gang of 1974" is opening the tour. I don't quite understand 3OH!3's music or WHY people like them so much and had sort of a bad attitude going into it. But by the time they went on I realized that I'd have a lot more fun, if I just let myself HAVE FUN. So I got up and danced around ridiculously and it was great. Their lyrics may not be intelligent or inspiring and they might not play any actual instruments, by I can understand how people get FUN out of their music. And sometimes you don't need substance, you just want to have fun with music. Obviously I'm not a huge fan now and I don't plan on getting their CD and listening to it, but I have respect for them as a band and the success they've built for themselves is quite impressive.

Kam and I. He treated me to free Chipotle earlier in the day. And that is why we're such good friends. Haha.

Jen and... Well I honestly don't remember his name so I'll just call him "Guy from 3OH!3 who is so tall it legitimately scares me sometimes". Yeah, that seems fitting.
So last night I found myself at the Cobra Starship, Forever the Sickest Kids, Sing it Loud, Hit the Lights show in Baltimore. I'm not really a fan of that "scene" or any of those bands musically but they're nice dudes and I had friends who were going that asked me to go. My only complaint is the way the fans of those kinds of bands all treat each other. Everyone had this crazy elitist superior attitude of being "too cool". I noticed so many kids in the crowd standing and making fun of other kids they saw. What I don't understand is how similar the musical stylings of these bands are and how all of these kids probably have a lot more in common than they're willing to admit. It's weird because at shows like Butch Walker there's a sense of community and everyone respects one another because we all realize we're there for the same reason, but that's not the case at these pop/punk/emotronica shows. (I have an entirely different aversion to the fact that "emotronica" is even a genre, maybe I'll touch on that some other time.) I just don't quite understand the competitive nature of it. Anyway, here are a few random pictures from the show just to keep things visual.

Caleb was mad that I was taking pictures and then let me take 1 of him and it came out better than any of the other pictures I took.

Kevin and I bonded over our shared love for Iron Maiden.

Keiren and Charlie who, evidently, kept winning everyone else's money.

This one is too funny NOT to post. See that large piece of wood in the corner? Basical ly there's a giant hole in the wall that is being covered up by that piece of wood. And evidently, if you slam the door hard enough, that piece of wood comes crashing down on unsuspecting victims sitting on that couch. I didn't catch it any of the times that it happened, but it literally almost killed them 3 or more times.
I could literally go on for hours writing about my experiences tonight at Carolina Liar/We the Kings and Butch Walker, but I'll spare you the pointless details and just get to the good stuff. I saw old friends, I made new ones, I laughed, I cried, I screamed so loud ("I WANT YOU I NEED YOU I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT YOU") that I lost my voice and can no longer speak whatsoever. I played WII baseball and struck out almost every single time. I literally RAN back and forth between 2 venues multiple times in 5-inch heeled boots.
And here are a few photos and a video from the BW show, because that show meant more to me than words themselves can explain.

The Lets Go Out Tonites

Yeah, I don't look as good in those glasses as he does...

I also want to thank Ben Romans for being such an inspirational human being (or alien?). He works so hard and does so much, It influences me to do more and be more and work harder to accomplish the things I set out to do.
2) I chose to support the Autism Speaks charity because my mom works with autistic kids in an elementary school. i've gone over several times and helped out with these kids, and they're such amazing individuals. They're artistic and creative and intelligent and have amazing imaginations and they're just great kids.
